About this experience
Step into a responsible wildlife encounter at Bali Zoo where you’ll join knowledgeable guides to learn about the daily lives of their resident elephants. The program blends hands‑on activities with conservation messaging, giving visitors an up‑close look while prioritising animal welfare.
What to Expect
A brief orientation introduces you to the zoo’s elephant care philosophy and safety guidelines. You’ll then move to the enclosure where a keeper explains natural behaviors and current conservation challenges. Under close supervision, participants may help with simple enrichment tasks such as distributing food or brushing, followed by time to observe the herd at play.
Who It's For
Ideal for families, solo travelers, and groups who value ethical wildlife experiences. Animal lovers and those interested in conservation will find the educational component especially rewarding, while younger children should be accompanied by an adult for safety.
Good to Know
Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and sturdy closed‑toe shoes; the enclosure area can be dusty and uneven. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water, as Bali’s climate is warm year‑round. The experience is generally accessible, though some paths may have gentle steps that could pose challenges for those with limited mobility.

“What a brilliant day, once in a lifetime opportunity after opportunity, having breakfast with the orangutans and elephants, with a great selection of food to choose from, followed by bathing the elephants was unbelievable. We paid extra on zoo arrival to have a feed and photo session with capybara, this is definitely worth the upgrade and GYG should have it as an optional extra.”
— Richard Edward

“Elephant mud fun was amazing, very good value for money. Breakfast with Orangutans was also enjoyable. The Capybaras experience was good but felt very rushed, basically got a tiny bucket with 2 leaves a d a bit of fruit, I would expect slightly more, but was still nice experience. overall Zoo was good, not to big but we liked that. Transport was great, Agung was very helpful and polite.”
— Chad
