Marine Disco graced Walking Street for 30+ years before closing in April 2023. What replaced it (Boss Club) didn't last either — shut down by a police raid in September 2025.
Marine Disco was Pattaya's oldest nightclub, and its actual story is more interesting — and more recent — than the "still open" version that circulates in a lot of nightlife guides.
Origins: Vietnam War-era Walking Street
Marine Disco opened in the 1970s, during the Vietnam War, when Pattaya drew large numbers of American servicemen on rest-and-recreation leave. It went on to run for over 30 years on Walking Street, carrying through the 1990s and 2000s as the street's profile shifted toward British, European, and Australian travelers.
Closure: April 2023
Marine Disco closed in April 2023 — Pattaya Mail's headline at the time was "Pattaya's oldest nightclub closes of its own accord." Reporting attributed the closure to the club losing ground to newer, flashier competitors on the same street with bigger production values and higher-profile DJs, rather than to any single incident.
What replaced it: Boss Club, then a police raid
The site was eventually taken over by Boss Club, an Indian/Bollywood-themed nightclub that opened in 2025. Boss Club didn't last either: on September 30, 2025, more than 100 officers from district administration, Pattaya police, and tourist police raided the venue after its manager allegedly assaulted a tourist at gunpoint over a bar-bill dispute. The raid found nine staff testing positive for drugs and more than 40 foreign workers without valid permits. Authorities ordered all activity at the venue to stop; the manager evaded arrest. As of this writing, the venue's status is unresolved.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Marine Disco still open?
No. It closed in April 2023 after more than 30 years on Walking Street.
What's at the old Marine Disco location now?
Boss Club occupied the site starting in 2025, but was shut down by a multi-agency police raid on September 30, 2025. The venue's current status is unresolved — don't plan a night around it without checking locally first.
Why did Marine Disco actually close?
Local reporting attributes it to competitive pressure — newer Walking Street clubs with bigger production and better-known DJs drew its audience away, rather than any single scandal or enforcement action.
